OS: My name is Ora Sanders, I am a student at Delta State University and I am interviewing
Mrs. Gladys Goodman of Cleveland, MS. What is your maiden name?
GG: Gladys Goodman.
OS: Where and what town did you live in at the time.
GG: At uh ( distorted) Mississippi.
OS: Okay. How many children did you have?
GG: I have ten. Uh, Percy, JB, Annabelle, Silverene, Brother, Elsie May, and then I had four, I
had four that was dead.
OS: Okay, and how old were you when you had your first child?
GG: I was twelve.
OS: And how old are you now?
GG: I am sixty six.
OS: Okay, do you have any grandparents living?
GG: Hmm, no no I don’t have no grandparents living.
OS: Okay, were your ever married?
GG: Mmm, hmm.
OS: Okay, and who were you married to?
GG: Ardelle Brown.
OS: What… how far can you trace your family’s heritage?
GG: Uh, let’s see. My grandmother, she was eighty eight when she died.
OS: And about how many years ago was that?
GG: That's been about ... let's see ... twenty ... it's been more than twenty years. That's been
about thirty- something years ago or forty or something like that. Forty years.
