M. J.: This is Meredith Johnston and Ambrose Webster; we are interviewing Judge John
Pearson today. It is March 8, 2001 and we are here in Rosedale at the home of Judge
John Pearson.
J. P.: Are you ready?
M. J.: Yes sir.
A. W.: We sure appreciate you giving us an audio tape today and allowing us to ask you some
questions about some historical events that we feel are very important. Important to the
point that we need to archive them, we need to document them. Uh, if you will, would
you give us your full name and your place and date of birth, please.
J. P.: My full name is John Lafayette Pearson, III and my home is Rosedale… I was born in
Rosedale, MS in what was known as the King’s Daughter’s Hospital on March 7, 1926. I
am 75, my birthday was yesterday.
M. J./ A. W.: Oh, well Happy Birthday!
J. P.: Thank you.
A. W.: Alright, when you… you said you were born in Rosedale. You pretty much lived in
Rosedale all of your life or were you away and came back or…
J. P.: I have lived here my entire life. The only time I was gone was when I was off at school
or in the service during the Second World War.
A. W.: Where did you go to school?
