Description	From the Rankin (Annie) Papers. Two-page typed letter signed Mr. and Mrs. Judge Rankin to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stewart dated September 29, 1967. Rankin writes about a hearing on her husband's welfare claim in Washington, D.C. She also writes of a federal audit of schools, where it was found that old and discarded equipment had been removed from white schools and placed in schools for use by African Americans. Instead, federal money was to have been used to purchase new equipment for the schools attended by African Americans.
