Description	From the Adam Daniel Beittel Papers. Typewritten news release from the Mississippi Advisory Committee of the United States Commission on Civil Rights following the Council's December 14, 1962, meeting. Jane M. Schutt had been appointed chair following the death of Rev. Murray Cox, and A.D. Beittel is secretary. The Council met to prepare a report on its activities and findings for 1962. The Council also expressed support for Rev. Thomas E. Johnson, a member of the Advisory Committee. The news release gives a summary of the Advisory Committee's mission and authority and lists other Committee members.
