Description	Letter from Martin L. Harvey, dean of student affairs at Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to John A. Peoples, president of Jackson State College, expressing sympathy and support following the May 15, 1970, shooting of student protesters at Jackson State by Mississippi law enforcement officers. The shootings resulted in the wounding of twelve students and the death of two, Phillip Lafayette Gibbs, a Jackson State pre-law major, and James Earl Green, a local high school student. (Jackson State College is now known as Jackson State University.)
