Description	From the George A. Owens Papers. This draft of a letter refers to a meeting between Gov. Waller, Dr. Owens, and Robert O. Wilder on June 3, 1975. Owens and Wilder expressed concern to the governor over the book Mississippi, Conflict & Change, by James Loewen and others, not being included on Mississippi's list of approved textbooks. Owens stresses that he is not recommending the book as a textbook, but that he and Wilder hoped to avoid negative national publicity for Mississippi based on the book's exclusion. The letter also references a June 25 letter from Waller in which he stated that he did not think the book met the criteria for a textbook, but that it should be available to students.
